Vintage “quack” medical device

Up for auction is a quack medical device of no known therapeutic use, plus an assortment of oddments from Doc Baker’s office.

The device dates from about 1880.  We think that Doc Baker bought it as a curiosity for his own amusement.

The large cabinet, impressively made from oak and marble, proclaims itself to be a “Thompson Plaster Electrical Cabinet”.  The drawer contains the original instruction manual.

Also included are three pairs of modern crutches and a walking cast, a traction device, and an enamel bedpan.  Great for display in a doctor’s office!
